Westlake at a glance

Westlake is the main brand of ZC Rubber, also known as Zhongce Rubber, China's largest tyre manufacturer. The company started out in 1958 as the Hangzhou rubber factory. The brand is named after the West Lake, Hangzhou's most famous sight and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In June 2025 ZC Rubber listed on the Shanghai stock exchange, raising around four billion yuan in its IPO.

Westlake belongs to ZC Rubber together with its sister brands Goodride and Trazano. The group makes tyres for cars, trucks, motorcycles and agricultural machinery. Westlake is a budget brand that in recent years has been trying to move upmarket and win original-equipment contracts with European car makers. It suits drivers looking for an affordable tyre that still comes from a major manufacturer. The tyres are made in China and Thailand.

Common Westlake summer tyres in Europe include the ZuperEco Z-107 and the sportier SA37, with the SU318 for SUVs. For year-round use, the brand offers the Z-401. The best-known winter tyres are the SW608 and Z-507, while the SW612 is designed for vans. For Nordic winters, check whether the chosen model is also designed for icy roads. The range is wide and also includes tyres for vans and light trucks.
