Giti at a glance
Giti Tire began in 1951 in Jakarta, where Indonesia's Lim family set up a tyre business. The company later moved much of its production to China, and its headquarters relocated to Singapore. In 2017 Giti opened its first factory outside Asia, in South Carolina, USA. That same year Giti made its debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, later going on to win its class there.
Giti Tire is a privately owned group that ranks among the world's ten largest tyre manufacturers by revenue. Its factories are in China, Indonesia and the USA. The group's brands are Giti, GT Radial, Primewell, Runway and Dextero. In Europe, Giti tyres sit in the budget price bracket and suit drivers looking for a low-cost tyre from a large manufacturer.
Giti summer tyres on sale in Europe include the economical GitiSynergy E1 and the sportier GitiSport S2. Giti winter tyres carry the GitiWinter name, such as the GitiWinter W2. These are Central European winter tyres, not Nordic studded tyres. For year-round driving, Giti offers the GitiAllSeason AS1. Giti's line-up also includes dedicated van ranges, and for SUVs there is the GitiControl range.
