Fulda at a glance
Fulda began in 1900, when engineer Gustav Becker and merchant Moritz Hasenclever set up the rubber works Gummiwerke Fulda in the town of Fulda. The first solid rubber tyres were made in 1906 and tubeless car tyres in 1953. In 1962 the company was bought by Goodyear. The Fulda plant ran for 125 years, until Goodyear ended production there in September 2025.
Today Fulda is the Goodyear group's mid-range brand – cheaper than Goodyear and dearer than Debica. Fulda tyres are made in Goodyear's European factories, including Dębica in Poland. The brand is especially well known in Germany and Central Europe. Fulda tyres suit drivers who want a tyre with German heritage without paying a premium price. On the group's price ladder, Fulda sits between Goodyear and Debica.
Fulda's winter range is Kristall, such as the Kristall Control HP 2 for Central European winters and the Kristall Montero for smaller cars. Fulda does not offer Nordic studded tyres in Europe. Fulda's summer tyres include the sporty SportControl 2 and the more economical EcoControl HP 2. For year-round driving there is the MultiControl. For SUVs, Fulda has the 4x4 Road range.
