Triangle at a glance
Triangle was founded in 1976 by the Weihai city government in Shandong province. At the time, China had almost no car industry. So in its early years Triangle made tiny tyres for street-sweeping machines and refuse carts, which were exported to Indonesia. The company only turned a profit in 1993, after new management restructured it. Today Triangle is one of China's largest tyre manufacturers.
Triangle is an independent Chinese company with all of its factories in Weihai. It makes tyres for cars, trucks and off-road machinery. In tyres for construction and mining machinery, Triangle ranks among the larger producers worldwide, and most of them are exported. In car tyres, Triangle is a budget brand for drivers after a keen price. Triangle also works with Caterpillar and Volvo.
For European car drivers, the best-known Triangle tyres are the EffeXSport TH202 summer tyre and the AdvanteX SUV, designed for SUVs. For year-round use, the brand offers the SeasonX TA01. A common winter tyre is the WinterX TW401, a Central European-style non-studded tyre. For Estonian winters, compare before buying whether the tyre is also designed for icy roads. The availability of models in Estonia changes from season to season.
