Central European winter tyres: full ranking

Tomket at a glance

Tomket started out in the Czech Republic in 1997 as a tyre retailer, not a manufacturer – initially as an online shop. Over time, the family business grew into a tyre company with its own brand and headquarters in Prague. That path is rare in Europe. Most budget brands belong to Asian manufacturers, whereas Tomket is a name created by a Central European company itself.

Tomket belongs to the budget class. The company says its tyres meet EU requirements, but it does not publicly disclose the names or locations of the factories. The range covers more than 300 sizes. Tomket suits drivers who need an affordable tyre for ordinary driving in town and on main roads, and who value having a European company behind the brand that they can contact if needed. On price, Tomket competes with Asian budget brands.

Common Tomket summer tyres include the Sport 3 and Eco. For year-round use, the brand offers the Allyear 3. For winter there are the Snowroad 3 and Snowroad Pro 3, plus the Snowroad SUV 3 and Snowroad Van 3 for SUVs and vans. The summer tyre for vans is the Van-3. The range also includes off-road tyres and truck tyres.
