Star Performer at a glance
Star Performer is a lesser-known tyre brand. Several European retailers name the Taiwanese company Nankang Rubber Tire, which began making tyres in 1959, as its manufacturer. However, there is no confirmation of this link from an official manufacturer source. Neither the year the brand was created nor the location of its factory is publicly known.
Star Performer tyres belong to the budget class and are sold mainly through online shops across Europe. The range covers tyres for cars and vans. The brand suits drivers looking for an affordable tyre in a common size for everyday driving in town and on main roads – drivers for whom a famous name on the sidewall matters less than the price.
The current models have space-themed names. For cars there are the Stratos HP, Stratos UHP, Interstellar, Orbit and Quasar. For year-round use there is the Solar 4S. For vans, the brand offers the Nova Van, Stratos Van and Solar Van 4S. When choosing a tyre for an Estonian winter, it is worth checking that it carries the 3PMSF three-peak mountain snowflake symbol.
