Radar at a glance
Radar tyres were launched in 2006 by Omni United, a Singapore company founded in 2003 by G. S. Sareen. From the outset the brand has operated without factories of its own: Omni United develops the tyres and has them made at partner factories. In 2013, Radar took part in the Baja desert races. Since 2011 the brand has supported BCRF, the US Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and in 2021 it collaborated with GFG Style, the Giugiaro design house.
Radar belongs to Omni United, which is headquartered in Singapore. The tyres are made in contract factories, mainly in Asia. The brand covers cars, SUVs, vans and also trucks. Radar sits in the budget price bracket. It suits drivers who want a budget tyre in a wide range of sizes, including large SUV rims. In Europe, Radar tyres are sold mainly through online shops.
The best-known Radar car tyres belong to the Dimax series. Common summer tyres include the Dimax R8+ and Rivera Pro 2, with the Renegade series for SUVs. For Central European winters, Radar offers the Dimax Alpine. For year-round use there is the Dimax 4 Season, which carries the snowflake symbol. Studded or non-studded tyres designed for icy Nordic roads are scarce in the Radar range, so it is worth checking separately before you buy.
