Platin at a glance

Platin tyres are the own brand of the German tyre wholesaler Interpneu. Interpneu was founded in Karlsruhe in 1970. The Platin trademark was launched in 1987 and covers both tyres and alloy wheels, which makes Platin a name that has been familiar in Germany for more than thirty years. According to Interpneu, Platin tyres are made by one of the world's ten largest tyre manufacturers, but the company's name is not disclosed.

Platin is not an independent factory but a separate trademark belonging to a wholesaler. Interpneu's headquarters and logistics centre are in Germany. The tyres are offered for cars, vans and light trucks in more than a hundred sizes. Platin sits in the mid-range price bracket. It suits drivers who want a tyre made in a major manufacturer's factory without paying a top brand's price. The brand is sold mainly in Germany and Central Europe.

The latest Platin summer tyres are the RP 330, RP 430 and RP 530, which cover a range of rim sizes and car classes. A well-known winter tyre is the RP 60, designed for Central European winters. For vans, Platin offers the RP 700 Van Allseason all-season tyre. There are no Nordic studded or non-studded tyres in the Platin range, so the brand is best suited to regions with milder winters.
