Mazzini at a glance

The name Mazzini sounds Italian and brings to mind Giuseppe Mazzini, the 19th-century unifier of Italy – but this is a Chinese brand. Mazzini was launched by Best Choice International Trade, a tyre trading company based in Beijing. The brand was unveiled in 2010 at CITExpo, the Chinese tyre exhibition. At the time, Best Choice was buying tyres from more than 40 Chinese factories, and in 2011 it began building a factory of its own.

Mazzini is a private-label brand: the tyres are made in China and sold at a keen price. In Europe the brand is especially widespread in the UK and Ireland, where it is sold by many online shops and tyre garages. Mazzini suits drivers looking for an inexpensive everyday tyre who mainly drive around town or on main roads. Before buying, it is worth checking the EU tyre label for the specific model.

Mazzini's winter tyre range goes by the name Snow Leopard. For cars there are the Snow Leopard, Snow Leopard 2 and Snow Leopard 3, for SUVs the Snow Leopard LX, and for vans the Snow Leopard VAN. The most common summer tyres are the ECO607 and ECO605 Plus, with the Varenna S01 for larger rims. For year-round driving there is the Cross AllSeason AS8, and the EffiVan for vans. Studded tyres built for harsh Nordic winters are not a highlight of the Mazzini range.
