Lassa at a glance
Lassa's history began in 1974, when the Turkish industrial group Sabancı set up a tyre factory. Production started in 1978. In 1988 Japan's Bridgestone became Sabancı's partner, creating the joint venture Brisa. In 1996 Lassa received the European Quality Award. Brisa's factories turn out a tyre every 2.5 seconds on average. The Lassa name, meanwhile, lived on as Brisa's main in-house brand.
Lassa is owned by Brisa, which belongs to Sabancı Holding and Bridgestone. Its tyres are made at two factories in Turkey: İzmit and Aksaray. Brisa also makes Bridgestone tyres for the Turkish market in the same plants. In price terms, Lassa sits on the boundary between mid-range and budget tyres. It suits drivers who want an affordable tyre backed by a major manufacturer. Lassa tyres are sold in more than 80 countries.
Lassa's best-known winter tyre in the Nordic countries is the Iceways 2 studded tyre. Its Central European winter tyres are the Snoways 4 and, for drivers of larger cars, the Competus Winter 2+. Popular summer tyres include the Driveways and Driveways Sport+, with the Competus H/P 2 for SUVs. Anyone looking for an all-season tyre will find the Multiways 2. For vans, Lassa offers the Transway 3 summer tyre and the Wintus 2 winter tyre.
